The biography of Aluisio Francisco da Luz, known as Índio, top scorer in Flamengo's second three-time Rio de Janeiro championship (16-1953) and the 55th highest scorer in Flamengo's history, with 10 goals, was launched last Thursday (142) at the Gávea headquarters, with the support of Flamengo's Historical Heritage Department. The book was written by Fábio Henrique Alves and published by Livros de Futebol. Índio was also one of the first people from the Northeast to wear the Brazilian National Team shirt, the first person from Paraíba to play in a World Cup (Switzerland, 1954), decisive in the qualifiers for the 1958 World Cup in Sweden and the first black person to play for Espanyol de Barcelona.

A native of Cabedelo, a port city in Paraíba, the striker passed away on April 19, 2020, coincidentally Indigenous People's Day, leaving a significant legacy in sport that deserves to be told. It was with this in mind that Fábio Henrique Alves decided to delve deeper into the story of the Cabedelo native and create his biography.

"It was very special to have launched Índio's story at Flamengo, the team that launched him and where he is one of the greatest scorers in its history," said Fábio Henrique.

The biographical book "Índio, o Herói de 57" narrates these and other facts in detail, with a wealth of details, about the career of this player with relevant importance for Brazilian football and for his state, Paraíba.
