Flamengo's anti-racist shirt will support the club's educational projects
The proceeds from the sale of the new piece will go to the Rubro-Negro Social Responsibility department.
By Communication - Flamengo - inThe anti-racist struggle is a fundamental part of Flamengo's history. Since its founding, Flamengo has been an inclusive and democratic phenomenon, serving as a tool to combat any inequality. During the month that celebrates the fight against racism, Flamengo is launching a Black Awareness T-shirt, with a portion of the proceeds donated to projects within the club's Social Responsibility department.
The shirts alluding to Black Consciousness Month will cost R$199,99 and you can buy them at loja.flamengo.com.br and at the club's physical stores. Official stores will also sell commemorative anti-racist patches. Launched in 2022, the patches honor seven pillars of the cause, developed by Flamengo's Social Responsibility department in 2022, following a series of lectures and workshops with experts on the topic.
Camila Nascimento, Flamengo's Social Responsibility Manager, explained the importance of the club's initiatives.
"Promoting diversity and combating racism is essential for social justice and the creation of more inclusive environments that respect and value ethnic and cultural differences. In this sense, a club like Flamengo has the ability to raise awareness and promote a deeper understanding of racial issues, encouraging empathy and contributing to the formation of a more just and egalitarian culture," he stated.
The club's master sponsor, BRB, also participates in the initiative.
"BRB supports another important initiative by Flamengo. We are committed to promoting awareness-raising initiatives regarding the importance of equal treatment and respect, as well as combating racism, prejudice, and all forms of discrimination," said Paulo Henrique Costa, president of the bank.
