Letter to the Red-Black Nation - President Rodolfo Landim

What is written in this letter is a portrait of how I see Flamengo.
We are fans of all races and creeds, united by a single passion.
Unfortunately, our country is sick. I'm not talking about COVID-19, but about this political intolerance on both sides that separates even families and that, unfortunately, some intend to instill in our Club as well. The feeling that unites us is love, not hate.
I understand that my role as president of the Club is to defend its interests and to do so it is necessary to interact with authorities.
For me, their political affiliation doesn't matter. I reach out to them all to get the support we need to continually improve our Flamengo.
Throughout my administration, I had countless contacts with the mayor, the governor and the president of the republic.
In the Legislature, we met with the presidents of the City Council, Legislative Assembly, Chamber of Deputies and Senate, always discussing projects of interest to our Club.
Just as an example of complete impartiality, at the inauguration of one of Flamengo's new swimming pools, we managed to have Lieutenant Governor Claudio Castro and the leader of the opposition in the National Congress, Alessandro Molon, side by side, raising flags. Incidentally, they are two great Flamengo supporters, as are the president of the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly, André Ceciliano (Workers' Party), and the vice president of the republic, Hamilton Mourão, two other important representatives of the people who are always willing to listen and help us.
Flamengo is more than a Club, it is a Nation and as such it must be plural.
It is unthinkable for me, as leader of a democratic institution like our Club, to fail to discuss its problems and interests with the country's democratically elected president.
Obviously, Rodolfo Landim has his own political convictions, but I can assure you that I keep them to myself and in no way allow them to interfere with the actions of the president of Flamengo. The president, by official duty, must relate equally to all authorities, respecting the will of the people who elected him. That's how democracies work.
You can be sure that I will continue to act this way during my term, always with the sole purpose of defending the interests of our Flamengo.
