Club launches first Flamengo Sports School, franchise focused on Olympic sports
The unit is in Campo dos Afonsos, in Rio de Janeiro, and will offer volleyball classes; the project is a success within the walls of Gávea and is now targeting the entire country.
By Communication - Flamengo - inBrazil's largest multi-sport club is taking another step toward remaining a benchmark in the development of athletes and citizens. This Saturday (28), the first unit of the Flamengo Sports School, a franchise focused on Olympic sports, was launched in Campo dos Afonsos, at Clube dos Sargentos, in Rio de Janeiro.
At first, the sport covered will be volleyball, but in the near future, it will also offer classes in sports such as basketball and swimming, traditional and multi-champion sports at Rubro-Negro.
"In addition to the project's sporting and social aspects, it will also be a new and important source of revenue for our Olympic sports. Flamengo has a long tradition of serving the Brazilian national teams in various Olympic sports across all the disciplines we compete in. These are names that have been and are part of Brazilian history at the Olympics, such as Rebeca Andrade and Isaquias Queiroz, to name the most recent examples. Honoring our position as a training and champion club, we will spread the Flamengo Olympic sports brand throughout Brazil," said Gustavo Oliveira, Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Mais Querido.
The director was accompanied by Guilherme Kroll, the club's vice president of Olympic Sports, who celebrated the news.
"Flamengo is an Olympic powerhouse, and we are very proud to see this project take shape after two years of research and structuring the Sports School beyond the walls of Gávea. We understand our social role as a training club and are certain that the classes will also be a true breeding ground for talent that will make the Red-Black Nation and our country proud. We will take our proven winning methodology to every corner of Brazil," concluded Kroll.
