With Flamengo salespeople and residents, Flamengo opens official store in Rocinha

This is the 88th unit of the Club's official store project and the second in a community in Rio.

Another official Flamengo store will be fully operational this Monday (20). Being the 88th of the project and the second located in a community in Rio, the Nação Rubro-Negra store in Rocinha is already promising to be a huge success among the huge Flamengo fans there.

Just as it was at the club's first community store in Rio das Pedras, the selection process for the sales team had two prerequisites: being a Flamengo fan and a local resident. The Mengão store in Rocinha is located at Caminho do Boiadeiro No. 34 and will be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 21 p.m., and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 13 p.m.

"We've been working hard to bring Flamengo ever closer to its fans, and the Rocinha community is larger than many Brazilian municipalities. We're very happy with this opening. We're certain the new store will be a resounding success," said the club's Vice President of Communications and Marketing, Gustavo Oliveira.

The Flamengo official store project is being managed by the Flamengo Marketing Licensing department in conjunction with MFPlai. Marcelo Plaisant, director of the partner company, spoke about the new development.

"It's a great honor to come to Rocinha and create jobs for Flamengo fans living in the community. The official store project allows small entrepreneurs passionate about Flamengo to have their own club store, and this is very rewarding for us. Now, after this long period of shutdown, we await the nation in our open-door physical stores, with great safety, and in compliance with all health authority recommendations," celebrated Plaisant.

"The reception was sensational. The day we opened, people started looking for official jerseys and personalized items. The Flamengo fan base is very strong here, and this store is a huge win for Flamengo. Previously, local residents had to go to other neighborhoods, or even to the clubhouse itself, to buy official Flamengo merchandise. Our store is already a success story," praised store manager Thiago Ferreira.

The novelty has already taken over the streets and alleys of Rocinha and residents are excited to be able to do their shopping with more comfort and convenience. It's important to remember that store operating protocols are in place for the safety of employees and customers. At the entrance to each store, there's a hand sanitizer dispenser for hand sanitizing. Masks are required, and trying on clothing items is prohibited, as there are limited numbers on the racks.

“It was with great joy, great happiness, that I found out "I'm so excited about the store's arrival here. I've been thinking about buying my Sacred Mantle for a long time, and now it will be easier for me and the other fans who live in Rocinha. It will be great to have a Mengão store close to home," said Erika Santos, a mediator for special needs children, Rocinha resident, and a true Flamengo fan.
