Statement of solidarity with Rio Grande do Sul

By - in

As representatives of Flamengo, Palmeiras and São Paulo, presidents Rodolfo Landim, Leila Pereira and Julio Casares met on Tuesday morning (07) to discuss new actions to support the Rio Grande do Sul clubs at this difficult time in the history of Rio Grande do Sul.

The three clubs express their solidarity and deeply regret the tragedy caused by the heavy rains in the state. In addition to the actions already taken and others that will be promoted, the three clubs have decided to make their infrastructure available to Grêmio, Internacional, and Juventude. This way, these teams, heavily impacted by the consequences of the natural disaster, will be able to use our facilities for accommodation, training, and matches, if they so wish.

Flamengo offers the George Helal Training Center (Ninho do Urubu); Palmeiras offers the Football Academy, the Allianz Parque and the Arena Barueri; São Paulo offers accommodation at the Cotia Training Center and at MorumBIS.

Likewise, the three clubs strongly believe that the CBF, in its role as the highest authority in national football, can make Granja Comary available as another shelter for Rio Grande do Sul clubs, among other forms of support.

We are certain that Brazilian football will increasingly unite with the people of Rio Grande do Sul.
