Joint statement from Flamengo and Grêmio

By - in

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense inform that, since the beginning of this year, they have jointly defended a criterion for the distribution of audience revenue, as stipulated in the contract signed between Globo and the Libra clubs, that recognizes each club's capacity to generate economic value.

This action was crucial in enabling Flamengo, Grêmio, and the other Libra clubs to reach an agreement last weekend, ending the dispute over the distribution of audience revenue, a portion that corresponds to 30% of the total fixed remuneration stipulated in the broadcasting rights contract until 2029.

The agreement reached represents a balance between the model advocated by Grêmio and Flamengo and the position of the other Libra clubs. The joint effort of all parties was decisive in building a consensual solution.

The agreement ensures that, between 2026 and 2029, Flamengo and Grêmio will increase their share of audience revenue compared to the previously proposed model, guaranteeing additional income for both clubs.

Flamengo and Grêmio reinforce their commitment to building a strong, sustainable league aligned with international best practices, highlighting that dialogue, institutional responsibility, and the ability to converge are fundamental to the development of Brazilian football.
