Children from the Jogaremos Juntos group visit Gávea and present Landim with a project shirt
The meeting took place during a tour of Gávea by the children from the NGO Craques da Vida with their teachers and guardians.
By Isabela Abirached - inOn the morning of this Wednesday (9), around 30 children from the first nucleus of Jogaremos Juntos, a social project by Flamengo that uses sport as a tool for social transformation in communities, visited the Gávea social headquarters. The children, their teachers and guardians were welcomed by president Rodolfo Landim, who was presented with a project shirt.
The Jogaremos Juntos group operates in the Vila Aliança community, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and works with children aged 4 to 10 from the NGO Craques da Vida.
After talking and singing the anthem with Landim, who wore the project's shirt and took photos with those present, the kids went for a walk around the social headquarters, on a visit mediated by Flamengo's Educational Department.
For this morning's visit, the club provided a bus and snacks for around 40 people, including children and their guardians, who visited the club for the first time and had the opportunity to learn a little about the club's history.
"Today was a remarkable day for the children. This visit gave them the opportunity to get out of the community and explore Gávea, see the beach, and see new landscapes. It's a very engaging trip for the children. The visit also had a huge impact on their parents, most of whom were visiting Gávea for the first time. Through the Jogaremos Juntos project, we also impact children and their families," said Franklin Ferreira, president of the NGO Craques da Vida, where the Jogaremos Juntos chapter operates.
About We Will Play Together
The Jogaremos Juntos project has its own pedagogical methodology, based on socio-emotional skills, which uses sports as a channel for development and inclusion for children from socially vulnerable areas. In Vila Aliança, Flamengo's Jogaremos Juntos project serves approximately 80 children in two weekly futsal classes.
