The power of a great soccer team and its crowd-pulling power will be at the service of a worthy cause: defending victims' rights. Flamengo is the newest partner in the campaign developed by the National Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office (CNMP), the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), and the Higher School of the Public Prosecutor's Office (ESMPU), through the National Movement in Defense of Victims (MNDV).

The red-and-black team will screen the video "All victims have rights" during halftime of the match against Internacional this Saturday, August 26, at Maracanã Stadium. This video is one of the campaign's key pieces. The initiative aims to empower people who have experienced abuse to identify with the feelings they experienced, recognize their victimhood, and assert their rights. 

The expectation is a full house and the partnership also has the potential to raise awareness among fans who will not be at the stadium, given the team's support and promotion of the issue. 

Campaign

The National Movement in Defense of Victims' Rights, which celebrated its first anniversary in August, seeks to raise awareness among the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office and society as a whole about the importance of welcoming, listening to, respecting, and guaranteeing the rights of those who have suffered some type of crime. 

During the Movement's first year of operation, two campaigns were launched: the first sought to raise awareness within the entire Public Prosecutor's Office through a large-scale mobilization and initiatives such as courses, workshops, outreach, the signing of agreements, and the establishment of regulations. In the second phase of the campaign, the Movement speaks directly to victims to inform them that they can always count on the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office to seek rights and redress.  

The initiative associates feelings such as guilt, fear, shame, anger, and frustration with behaviors such as fraud, harassment, cybercrime, hate speech, and others. The strategy aims to foster empathy while also enabling people who have experienced abuse to identify with the feelings they experienced, recognize their victimhood, and assert their rights.
