During the month dedicated to raising awareness about men's health, Blue November, Flamengo's Social Responsibility Department, in partnership with urologist Dr. Claudio Pessoa, held a lecture on prostate cancer prevention and offered free medical care to men over 40.

The action aimed to inform about the importance of preventing urological diseases, as well as providing medical assistance to communities that often face difficulties in accessing healthcare.

Dr. Claudio Pessoa, a longtime volunteer promoting men's health, highlighted the need to address the social barriers that prevent many men from seeking preventive medical care. During his lecture in the auditorium of the Maracanã Missionary Baptist Church, the specialist addressed topics such as prostate cancer, the most common urological diseases, and the importance of regular checkups.

"These initiatives allow us to share as much information as possible, breaking down cultural barriers surrounding prostate exams and aiming for early diagnosis of this disease, because with early diagnosis, we have over a 90% chance of a cure. Information leads to a cure for the patient," said the urologist.

In addition to the lecture, the initiative included a space for medical care, where men could have consultations and ask questions directly to the specialist.
