This Sunday (18), at 16 pm, Flamengo takes the field to face Corinthians, in Itaquera, for the 17th round of the Brazilian Championship. Opponents on the field, the two teams will play together off the field against a common enemy: hunger. Both teams will enter the field wearing the shirt of Ação da Cidadania, an NGO founded in 1993 by sociologist Betinho, with a strong presence in the fight against hunger and socioeconomic inequality. The Most Beloved will play with the Christmas Without Hunger logo on the sleeve of the Sacred Mantle.

"Flamengo is already a partner of Ação da Cidadania, and we're back together again for Christmas Without Hunger 2020. The club's Social Responsibility department works to help build a more just society, knowing our capacity to reach tens of millions of fans. Therefore, we urge Flamengo fans to join us in this cause and demonstrate the strength of the Biggest Fanbase in the World. Let's play together once again for solidarity," said Ângela Machado, Flamengo's Director of Social Responsibility.

After the game, the shirts will be auctioned and all the money will go to the Christmas Without Hunger campaign, which starts on the same Sunday, the 18th.

For Rodrigo "Kiko" Afonso, executive director of Ação da Cidadania, the initiative is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness for the fight against hunger, which is so necessary in the country. "We've seen an increasing number of families facing food insecurity. An initiative like this is essential for getting more people involved in this fight, which is everyone's responsibility," explains Kiko.
