Clarification
By Flamengo Regatta Club - inRegarding a note published last Sunday by columnist Ancelmo Gois, about the opening of the Vamo restaurant, at Flamengo's headquarters, we clarify that:
1. Having quality food options at our headquarters has always been one of our members' main demands. When the Landim administration began its work, there were practically no quality places for members to eat and continue to enjoy the club. Today, there are more than five great locations to serve members, with a variety of options and prices, resolving this long-standing demand once and for all;
2. It's not true that a restaurant opening party was planned for the club's directors. In reality, the restaurant opened its doors this week, still in its initial operation, as the establishment currently only has the ground floor; a second floor will soon be operational. The Flamengo board's focus has always been and will be on serving members, as well as offering Rio de Janeiro another excellent dining and leisure option in one of the city's most beautiful areas.
3. Finally, the claim that Flamengo's president was thwarted in his desire to remain as club director until the end of 2025 is untrue. His position on the club's term ending in December 2024 was made very clear before the recent Deliberative Council vote, in a speech given to all board members. In it, the president highlighted all the enormous achievements that Flamengo has achieved during his tenure, both sportingly and financially, and stated that his mission as president of the club will end in December 2024.
The president was warmly applauded by all the councilors, and the vote, after his speech, took place normally, with the Council voting unanimously to continue the model of election every three years, with the right to reelection.
Unfortunately, once again, the aforementioned journalist publishes information about Flamengo that is untrue. His sources likely have interests other than the truth of the facts and the ever-increasing strength of our Flamengo club.
