Flamengo and FIA/RJ pay tribute to mothers of missing children at Maracanã match

The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, in partnership with the Foundation for Childhood and Adolescence (FIA/RJ), paid tribute to mothers whose children are missing, through the SOS Missing Children Program, last Wednesday (10), at the Jornalista Mário Filho Stadium, Maracanã.
Before the Flamengo vs. Goiás match began, a group of mothers took to the field carrying a banner with photos of their missing children. The goal is to share these images in an attempt to locate them and also to raise awareness among fans and society about the importance of everyone's duty to act when a child or adolescent goes missing.
During the game, a video showing some missing children was shown on the stadium's big screen, reinforcing the message that public assistance is crucial to locating these children. The tribute was an initiative of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo's Social Responsibility Department, which aims to raise awareness about the cause and encourage solidarity.to families who experience the drama of having a missing child.
"By joining forces with Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, we hope to increase the campaign's visibility and mobilize more and more people in the search for these missing children and adolescents," said FIA/RJ president Fernanda Lessa.

Important informations
Just as important as prevention is knowing what to do in a possible case. Law No. 11.259/2005 (Immediate Search Law) states that investigations into the disappearance of children and adolescents must be carried out immediately after notification of the appropriate agencies. If a child goes missing, immediately go to the nearest police station and file a police report. There's no need to wait 24 hours.
Role of FIA/RJ and the SOS Program
FIA supports families in creating and disseminating videos and posters of missing children; it also promotes the missing children through its extensive network of partners in the media and on social media, as well as providing psychosocial support. After locating a missing child, support continues through psychosocial care and referrals to other policies (health, education, etc.).
In the event of a disappearance, immediately report the incident to any police station, taking the most recent photo possible of the missing person.
