Rio Cup Final - Broadcast Rights
By Flamengo Regatta Club - inClube de Regatas do Flamengo once again reaffirms its full support for Provisional Measure 984/2020, which grants the home team sole broadcast rights. This measure expands and democratizes commercial relationships between clubs and media outlets, strengthens Brazilian football, and, above all, gives fans more options for watching their favorite teams' games.
For this reason, Flamengo, reinforcing the position made in a statement last Monday (6), shortly after the draw that defined the home field for Fluminense Football Club, comes to the public to register its understanding that the broadcast rights for this game belong to Fluminense and its partner Rede Globo de Televisão, in accordance with the current contract. They are the ones who have the obligation to broadcast this game to the millions of fans of both teams.
That said, Flamengo's board is concerned about the legal dispute we've been following in the media between Fluminense and Rede Globo de Televisão. So far, we don't know if the two organizations have actually reached an agreement and whether fans will be able to watch today's final.
Out of respect for both fan bases and to promote the Campeonato Carioca, Flamengo once again places itself at the complete disposal of both institutions to help resolve the issue, the discussion of which could prevent fans from seeing this important decision.
Within this concept, we see a possible solution that serves the fans, and without any harm to third parties, as a shared transmission model, where both Flamengo and Fluminense could make the video and audio signal available on their streaming platforms - FlaTV and FluTV.
We are now available to capture and generate the signal for the two clubs' platforms.
Finally, we note that, regardless of the solution found by Fluminense and its partner Rede Globo de Televisão, FlaTV, as it did throughout the championship, will be present at the Maracanã stadium, broadcasting, on video, the pre-game and post-game and, on audio, the 90 minutes of this grand final.
