The 2022 Fla-Gávea Finals already has its participants defined

The top eight in each category continue their quest for the most important trophy of the season.

There were three stages, with nearly 600 registrations throughout the year and 587 matches played in 2022. This November, the Fla-Gávea Finals brings together the top eight players in each category. These are the players who scored the most points in the three stages of this season. We spoke with referee coordinator Iran Rocha, who previewed the tournament.

Tito Pires-Sarnicola is the overwhelming favorite in the first class. The Uruguayan, who divides fans, has won every stage in overwhelming fashion. Ailton Ginuino is coming off three losses to Tito, but continues training hard and promises to arrive in November in peak form. André Santos has only competed in one stage this year and managed to qualify. This is great news for the fans. André on the court is a guarantee of a great performance. Paulo Amaral and José Roberto Silva are running on the outside.

In the second class, we may have even more balance. Number one Vinicius Araujo is still returning from injury, but Arthur Gruenbaum and Argentine Simon Fernandez are flying low. Carlos Henrique could also surprise.

Fabio Maciel is ranked number one in the third class, but he'll have to face the incredibly tough Celso Gracie Ballard, who competed in only one stage in 2022 and was crowned champion. Bruno Figueira and Sávio Andrade could also pose a challenge.

In the fourth class, the favorite is number one Felipe Lopes. Lilian Fernandes is number one in the women's category and shares the spotlight with Vitória Almeida and Fabiana Abreu. Nothing is set in stone!
