Flamengo supports the revitalization of Jardim de Alah

Initiative involves a group of residents and clubs in the region

Flamengo has joined forces with three clubs from Rio de Janeiro's South Zone to revitalize Jardim de Alah, an area between Leblon and Ipanema used as a construction site during the construction of the metro station that bears the region's name. The initiative by neighborhood residents received support from AABB-Rio, Clube Paissandu and Monte Líbano, as well as Mais Querido. The initiative aims to make the space usable again, with lighting, a clean area, and fresh paint.

The expectation is that the place will once again welcome the public and that the space will be used for physical activities, events, social actions and other practices.

"We want it to be a beautiful area, a park for people to use, nice and well-maintained," said George Neder, Vice President of Heritage at AABB-Rio, one of the entities involved in the project.

The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the City Hall, which provided water through Comlurb and electricity points thanks to Rioluz. Last Thursday (03), employees from the four clubs involved began the revitalization work, which will continue this Saturday (05) with the participation of residents. Praça Grécia, located in Jardim de Alah, will host a special program for Children's Day, and the area will be painted during the event's activities. To participate, simply show up at the location starting at 9 am.
