Flamengo signs agreement to continue managing Maracanã for another six months
President Rodolfo Landim signed documentation last Thursday to extend the stadium's management period.
By Communication - Flamengo - inIn agreement with the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo signed last Thursday (10), in the sThe new permission term for the management of Maracanã, which will last until April 2020, was approved by the Department of Sports, Leisure and Youth. The club will continue as the official permit holder and will also maintain its partnership with Fluminense Football Club.
President Rodolfo Landim was present at the meeting along with Reinaldo Belotti, CEO of Flamengo, and Felipe Bornier, Secretary of Sports, Leisure and Youth of Rio de Janeiro.
"We've had an excellent experience during the six months we've been in charge of Maracanã. We've managed to resolve some of the stadium's chronic issues during this time, and we're very excited about the renovation project being completed by April of next year. But in parallel, we're developing our PMI (Expression of Interest Procedure), released last month by the State Government, which will support the Maracanã Concession Bidding Process for the next 35 years," says Landim.
