The love for Flamengo transcends generations. To celebrate Grandparents Day, the Social Club promoted a special action that took members to live a unique experience at Maracanã. During the match between Flamengo and São Paulo, for the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship, last Sunday (26), grandparents, grandchildren and Flamengo-supporting family members had the opportunity to share special moments in the sacred temple of football and record new memories alongside those who also carry the passion for the Most Beloved.

The event marked the first time Maria Helena Abrantes went to the stadium with her 9-year-old grandson, Eduardo Lucas. “My grandson was very happy to see the Maracanã and celebrating Grandparents' Day with him here was a wonderful experience; we just wished the result had been different,” she said. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with a goal from defender Léo Pereira. 

For Antônio Tomé, a club member since 1989, the moment had an even more special meaning. After a period away from the Maracanã due to health issues, he returned to the stadium to experience this alongside his family. “I thought it was wonderful. I remembered coming here with my granddaughters when they were 1 year old, and today I see it happening again with a grandson of a different age, and they are following suit. It was a very cool initiative,” recalled the grandfather of Arthur, 7, Beatriz, and Luiza, 24.

This initiative is part of Flamengo's Social Club commitment to providing unique experiences for its members, strengthening the sense of belonging and creating moments that will be etched in the history of Flamengo families. "This action went far beyond honoring grandparents; it was a way to bring people closer, create bonds and affectionate memories. It represents exactly what Flamengo stands for: tradition," emphasizes the Member Relations Coordinator, Ana Cláudia Cloves.
