Flamengo celebrates its 126th anniversary with a party in Gávea
The event began at the rowing headquarters with the traditional dawn
By Flamengo Communication - inFlamengo Regatta Club celebrated its 126th anniversary this Monday with a huge celebration in Gávea. The event began with the traditional dawn rally at the rowing headquarters at 7 a.m.
At the rowing headquarters, President Rodolfo Landim was honored with a commemorative plaque during a very special breakfast.
"I started being a Flamengo fan, not because of football, but because of rowing. The person who made me a Flamengo fan was my grandfather, who was a rower for Flamengo... When I was little, my grandfather would take me to Lagoa to watch the regattas," Landim said.
Back in Gávea, idols and world champions Raul Plassmann and Mozer were honored with their busts in front of the Club's Official Store. It was a deeply emotional moment for all in attendance, especially due to the presence of Sandro Rilho, the project's creator, who has recovered from COVID-19.
After the Mass of Saint Jude Thaddeus in the chapel, President Rodolfo Landim passed by the Cláudio Coutinho Gymnasium, to honor Artistic Gymnastics, Judo, where he paid tribute to the champion Rosicleia Campos, the swimming pool, Tennis, where he inaugurated new facilities, FlaBasquete, where he presented commemorative plaques, and participated in the inauguration of the traditional Charanga museum.
We can't forget the red-and-black cake at Boca Maldita, which sweetened the party. Congratulations, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo! Your Glory is to Fight! A special thanks to everyone who attended the event!
