Flamengo Regatta Club celebrates, this Friday (15), 124 years of race, love, passion. Traditionally, the Gávea headquarters hosted a special program to celebrate the centennial history of the Most Beloved.

The day began early, at 7 a.m., with a dawn signal and fireworks at the Lagoa nautical headquarters. President Rodolfo Landim raised the Brazilian flag, while Rowing Vice President Raul Bagattini and former President George Helal raised the pennants of the city of Rio de Janeiro and Flamengo, respectively.

The festivities continued with a mass at the chapel of Saint Jude Thaddeus and breakfast at Boca Maldita, livened up by the Charanga Rubro-Negra. At the club's main entrance, a bust of Nunes, a world champion idol with Mengão, was unveiled.

Celebratory soccer matches, a tennis tournament, swimming, gymnastics, judo, water polo training, and a friendly basketball match were the sporting attractions that livened up Gávea.

To get to know the club's headquarters better, members were able to visit CUIDAR (Unified Center for Identification and Development of Performance Athletes) and Fla Memória, as well as enjoy capoeira, altinha and table football performances.

For the little ones, there's plenty of fun at the playground, with children's activities. For adult car lovers, a classic car exhibition by the Veteran Car Club Brazil brought beautiful automobiles to the club's headquarters.

The conclusion of the daytime events featured former president Marcio Braga and Rodolfo Landim leading the congratulations and the Flamengo anthem to cut the cake.

To close the date, while the volleyball girls face São Paulo Barueri for the Superliga, in the Salão Nobre, Sandra de Sá, Bebeto and Sandra Portela show off their red-and-white spirit and good music in the show 'Fla Musical'.
