The club has signed a licensing agreement with the company that manufactures the product and will have first-year royalties paid on products for donation.

Amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, Flamengo partnered with LBBio (Brazilian Biology Laboratory) to license its brand for hand sanitizer products. The agreement stipulated that royalties from sales will be converted into products for distribution by the club to various communities in Rio de Janeiro.Additionally, the club's Marketing Department has negotiated an additional 150 units, which will be delivered upon signing the agreement. All club employees and athletes will also receive a unit of the product, which is one of the community's allies in preventing COVID-19.
How works
Instead of the company paying royalties to the club in cash, the payment will be in products—delivered to Flamengo—for donation. More than 200 65ml and 500ml hand sanitizer containers will be distributed to communities in Rio de Janeiro state over the coming months.
Starting this Friday (17), Flamengo will schedule the first deliveries for people in vulnerable situations. The product will only reach the market for sale to consumers in about 30 days, with packaging ranging from 65ml, 125ml, 250ml and 500ml.
"In this difficult time that society is experiencing, hand sanitizer is one of the protective measures recommended by authorities to combat the virus. By converting royalties into products, Flamengo will be able to further strengthen the work it has been doing with underserved communities in our city," emphasized Gustavo Oliveira, Flamengo's Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
The alcohol gel will be donated to several communities in Rio de Janeiro and the Metropolitan Region, in a joint action between the Marketing Department and the club's Social Responsibility Department.

"It's a great pleasure for us to develop a project of this size with Flamengo. We made a point of stopping our entire production process to serve the club exclusively. We're making a product available with all the necessary authorizations in record time, given the urgency of the situation. We're confident that the 70% alcohol gel will be a hit with fans, which will result in the club receiving a large quantity for donation," said Rodrigo Vieira, director of LBBio.
