In another action of the 'Solidarity Nation' campaign, Flamengo carried out, this Monday (01), the distribution of alcohol gel and protective masks in the communities of Fallet, Fogueteiro, Beco União and Pereira, located in the Center of Rio de Janeiro. The event, promoted by the club's Director of External Relations, Cacau Cotta, and by the Residents Association 'United Communities', also had the delivery of basic food baskets.

In total, around 200 people benefited from the initiative. Cacau Cotta emphasized the importance of helping others during such a difficult time:

"Two things really struck me here in these communities: people seeking out hand sanitizer and Flamengo masks, even when wearing jerseys from other Rio teams. The club is breaking down barriers and paradigms in sport," said Cacau.

The director emphasized how a small gesture can make a difference in people's lives. "Flamengo is following its roots, its origins as a popular club. We saw children with shining eyes when they received Arrascaeta masks and Fla hand sanitizer. Such a small gesture from an institution like Flamengo can become a big one in the eyes of these people. I'm very grateful to the Residents' Association for all their support," the Flamengo director emphasized.

Fallet resident Maria de Fátima Menezes praised Flamengo's actions during such a difficult time. "It's been quite difficult. The authorities rarely look at us, who live in a community. That's why it's so gratifying to see Flamengo helping us amid this pandemic. Today, we're able to bring food to our homes, because it's so easy to ask us to stay home and not help us. With this support the club is providing, thank God we'll be able to meet some of our needs," said the housewife, emotionally.

It's always worth remembering that Flamengo's hand sanitizer bottles are produced in partnership with LBBio (Brazilian Biology Laboratory), and the protective masks were donated by Flamengo star De Arrascaeta. The distribution was attended by Camila Nascimento, Mais Querido's Social Responsibility Manager.
