On the morning of this Wednesday (26), Flamengo was in the region of Praça São Salvador, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, distributing blankets, coats, food and cups to homeless people. The action was the result of a partnership with NUDEDH - Human Rights Defense Center of the Public Defender's Office of Rio de Janeiro and volunteers from the VOAR project - Experiencing Real Love, which distributes breakfast to people in vulnerable situations. More than 200 people were present at the action.

"Flamengo's arrival here today values ​​these people, makes them feel important, and boosts their self-esteem. I want to thank Flamengo so much!" said Suzana Oliveira Lopes, coordinator of the VOAR project, which has been distributing breakfast in various locations in Rio's South Zone since 2005.

The blankets and supplies were distributed by Flamengo, through the "Recicla Nação" Project, part of the club's Social Responsibility, in partnership with Soul Ambiental, which allocates solid waste for recycling and all proceeds to social impact actions.

Throughout the project, 40.612 tons of solid waste, including plastic and cardboard, have been recycled, and more than 5 people in socioeconomically vulnerable situations have been impacted by this project. The coats distributed in the initiative were collected during the club's annual coat drive during the cold months.
