During International Women's Day week, Flamengo fans will have a very special boost for the first leg of the Campeonato Carioca semifinal, this Saturday (9), against Fluminense, at Maracanã. Women from vulnerable backgrounds assisted by the social institutions Rede Postinho, located in Pavão-Pavãozinho Cantagalo, and Espaço Gaia, located in the former Itaoca landfill, in São Gonçalo, will be able to experience all the excitement of a Flamengo match at Maracanã. Many will be attending the stadium for the first time. In total, 80 women will be present. In addition to the aforementioned institutions, the women of FLA PPG, a Flamengo fan base formed by women from Pavão-Pavãozinho, in Cantagalo, will also be present. 

"Espaço Gaia is eager to take the women supported by the project to Rio de Janeiro's biggest classic, along with many people who have never had the opportunity to step foot in the Maracanã. Expectations are high, from both adults and children," said Laura Torres, president of Projeto Gaia.   

The initiative is part of the "Nação no Maraca" program, created by Flamengo's Social Responsibility department, which works to promote social inclusion and has already brought more than 10 people from socially vulnerable backgrounds to Maracanã last year alone. The initiative not only provides moments of leisure and entertainment, but also highlights the importance of inclusion and equity, encouraging reflection on overcoming social barriers.

By connecting sport, social inclusion, and a commitment to community well-being, Flamengo demonstrates that football goes far beyond competition and is also a powerful tool for promoting positive change in society.
