In another initiative carried out by the Social Responsibility Department, Flamengo distributed kits providing access to treated water to people in extremely vulnerable situations in Jardim Gramacho, Rio de Janeiro, and the urban center of Rio Branco, Acre, throughout July. The kits, created by the socio-environmental impact business Água Camelo, eliminate 99.9% of all bacteria, protozoa, suspended particles, and microplastics present in the water, making it safe for consumption.

Lack of access to treated water affects 35 million Brazilians, and waterborne diseases have a profound impact on their health, harming their physical and mental development, especially that of children.

"I don't drink the water from the barrel. I suffer with the water, I even cry because I can't drink it at all. I get thirsty. So for me, it was wonderful," said Aparecida, a resident of Jardim Gramacho.

This was the second distribution of access kits for people without access to treated water. In Acre, the CRF's Social Responsibility Program partnered with Cufa Acre and Água Camelo. In Jardim Gramacho, the program partnered with Instituto Remar and Água Camelo. In 2021, the program also took place in the states of Amapá, Ceará, and Alagoas.
