This Thursday, the 16th, Flamengo donated 200 cartons of milk to Casa de Apoio Aura, a Minas Gerais institution that serves socially vulnerable children undergoing cancer treatment. Founded 25 years ago, Aura provides shelter and multidisciplinary assistance to children and their families, aiming to minimize the stress and strain caused by cancer treatment.
The donation was delivered by FlaBasquete coach Gustavo De Conti and power forward Gabriel Jaú, who visited the institution and learned a little about the work carried out with the children.
The milk donation was made through the Recicla Nação project, an initiative of Flamengo's Social Responsibility Department in partnership with Soul Ambiental. The project recycles bottle caps and other solid waste, using all proceeds to pay for food for people in vulnerable situations. In its two years of existence, Recicla Nação has recycled nearly 30 tons of plastic, generating social impact for thousands of families in need.
"It's very important to have Flamengo here because it serves as an example of responsibility and commitment to social projects. When we receive a donation like powdered milk, it's a daily meal for children. The Flamengo Regatta Club is a national reference, and I hope this continues to grow. The impact of your visit will certainly help Aura a lot," said Paulo Pacheco, president of Casa de Apoio.
The institution is maintained through donations and partnerships. You can learn more about Casa de Apoio Aura through its social media channels (@casadeapoioaura) and website at aura.org.br.
