This Friday (30), Flamengo, in partnership with the Recomeçar Association, promoted an emergency action in the center of Rio and donated one hundred blankets and supplies to protect people in situations of extreme vulnerability, due to the cold wave that is hitting the country, with snow and negative temperatures recorded in several regions of the national territory.  

The event took place in Largo da Carioca, an area where the homeless population has seen a significant increase, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. The worsening socioeconomic situation in the country has forced countless people onto the streets, losing their jobs, income, and ability to provide for themselves.   

"Having the support of a club as big as Flamengo helping an association like ours is crucial. It's what keeps us going, because in addition to contributing donations, it generates significant visibility to continue our work. I say that what institutions need most today are partnerships like this, which can bring visibility and demonstrate the importance of the work being done. So we are very grateful to Flamengo for their partnership. Thanks to this type of action, we continue to believe, every day, in a better world with less inequality," said Nathália Mendes, President of the Recomeçar Association.    

This action, promoted by the CRF's Social Responsibility department, was only possible thanks to the support received by the club's Olympic Sports area, which auctioned the shirts used by the basketball team in the Champions League Americas final, allocating all the proceeds to Fla's social actions.
