For another year, Flamengo remains a benchmark in management. This is demonstrated by the "XP Call-Up Report: Finances, History, and Market of Brazilian Football," released last week. It provides an overview of the finances of Brazil's top clubs, fan characteristics, and the consumer market, with unprecedented data on the transformation of Brazilian football and the impacts of the pandemic.

In the ranking of highest total revenues, the Mais Querido is in first place, with R$1.054 million, in parallel with a decrease in total debt, from R$582 million to R$450 million. According to the document by XP in partnership with the consulting firm Convocados, which used as a source the Financial Statements published by Flamengo in the Transparency section of the Official Website, there was "significant revenue growth, which goes beyond the 2020 portion that was carried over to 2021."

The report also noted a very positive increase in Advertising and Sponsorship and Social Media. While Athlete Negotiation is an important source of revenue, it wasn't necessary to balance the books. Lower debt and higher revenue left the club in a comfortable position, with more cautious investments, during a time of crisis caused by the pandemic, which impacted the entire planet on several fronts. Even so, Flamengo saw improvements in revenue, cost control, operational performance, and financial stability.
