Another great goal for Flamengo's Social Responsibility! Flamengo was awarded by Play For a Cause this Friday (30), in Gávea, for being the Brazilian club with the greatest social engagement in 2020. What does this mean? The amount raised with the items donated by Flamengo to the platform was higher than the amounts raised by other clubs in the country.

The 63 items donated by Flamengo raised R$176.490,00 for Play For a Cause. The money raised was used to impact the lives of 2.200 families. 27.500 kg of food were purchased.

"We are incredibly happy to receive this award. We want Flamengo to always be at this level. We will continue our work, which is extremely important to society," said Ângela Machado, Flamengo's Director of Social Responsibility.

"For us, this award is a great recognition. It's a recognition of our very serious social work, especially in difficult times like these. We are deeply committed to our work to guarantee rights and to community support initiatives, to somehow contribute to reducing social inequality in the country. So, we receive this award as a huge encouragement. We know there is still much to be done, but we are deeply committed to our mission to minimize the effects of inequality for countless families in Brazil," added Camila Nascimento, the department's manager.

"It's a great pleasure for us to be here today presenting this award. Especially knowing that this relationship has been built for some time. From the beginning, when we started in 2018... Being here now with this amazing result really shows Flamengo's commitment off the field, in the social sphere. And being an example off the field. Today, we are delighted to present this award. And it's very important that this becomes an example for other clubs to adopt the same approach and transform sport into a true tool for social transformation," concluded André Georges, founder of the platform.
