On Wednesday morning (18), Flamengo's Social Responsibility department was in the Praça São Salvador region, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, distributing water, fruit, food, socks and other important items to homeless people. The action was carried out in partnership with volunteers from the VOAR – Experiencing Real Love project, which has been distributing breakfast to people in extremely vulnerable situations for 19 years. More than 100 people were present at the action.

"Food is the starting point for a meeting that goes far beyond nutrition. Here on the streets, we meet people, understand their needs, make referrals to government agencies for document collection, hospitalizations, and counseling sessions. A strong demand from people living on the streets is listening. People want to speak and be heard. We volunteers aren't just here to give. We receive a lot from them too. It's, above all, a relationship of encounter," said Fernando Vilela, a volunteer with the VOAR Project. "The people are so happy. It was such a celebration! I want to thank Flamengo's entire Social Responsibility team for this initiative! We are very grateful!" added Suzana Oliveira Lopes, coordinator of the VOAR Project.
