On Monday (15), Flamengo planted 540 trees in the Bosque da Barra Municipal Natural Park Conservation Unit. The action is part of Pé de Gol, a Social Responsibility initiative of the club, through which ten trees are planted for each goal scored by Flamengo in the men's and women's Brazilian Championships. The 540 trees correspond to Flamengo's goals in the period considered, until July 6, with 26 goals from the men's team and 28 from the women's team.

Pé de Gol (Golf Foot) is an environmental education project that aims to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of environmental conservation for a more sustainable future. During the event, children visited Horto Rizzini and learned about the species planted with local environmental agents. Students from the social projects Formiga Verde and Meninos e Meninas Que Sonham, both from Morro da Formiga in Rio's North Zone, were present at the planting, along with women's soccer players Laysa and Sorriso, and men's soccer forward Carlinhos. Binho, the mascot, interacted with everyone.

"It's great to be here in Bosque da Barra with our children from Morro da Formiga. They're really enjoying it; most of them don't have the opportunity to leave their territory. So, moments like this are always a great learning experience for them," said André Leonardo, representative of the Formiga Verde social project.

Since its inception three years ago, the project has planted a total of 2.730 trees, contributing to environmental education and conservation by highlighting the importance of trees in producing oxygen and providing food for local wildlife. The initiative was supported by the Permacultura Lab Institute and the Municipal Department of the Environment.
