Flamengo opened last Tuesday (11/03) the exhibition “Red-Black Women: Telling 130 Years of History” at the Flamengo Museum with the presence of athletes and former athletes who made their mark on the history of the club's women's Olympic Sports and were honored.

To celebrate Women's Month, rare pieces from protagonists of different generations were featured in different sections of the Flamengo Museum, including trophies, medals and iconic uniforms from the competitors who took Flamengo and Brazil to the top of the sport.

During the inauguration, club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding the legacy of those who contributed to the Mais Querido's success across various sports. "May you receive in return the generosity, passion, and love that these red-and-black women gave to Flamengo," he stated.

Among the honorees were athletes like Jade Barbosa, who said she was honored to be part of the club's history. A Flamengo athlete since she was six years old, she also highlighted the impact this initiative has on future generations. "Just as I was inspired since I was a child by such incredible women, I believe we can continue to inspire young girls to see that it's possible to achieve."

Jackie Silva, who made history at the 1996 Olympics (Atlanta), was also present and celebrated the connection created between former athletes and the new generation of Flamengo talent through the Women's Month exhibition. "Flamengo has always been a home for me, and I was inspired here as an athlete. Now, being an inspiration is an honor for me," she stated.

Also an Olympic medalist and on her first visit to the Flamengo Museum, Rafaela Silva sees the tribute as fuel to continue her pursuit of new achievements for Flamengo. "Seeing one of my items on display in the history of such a great club is very special to me."

Other honorees in attendance included Lorrane Oliveira, Rosicleia Campos, Luisa Parente, Camila Ururahy, Chiquinha, Tuninha, Dona Zica, and Maria Lenk's family. The exhibition will remain open to the public throughout the month of March at the Flamengo Museum.
