In yet another action promoted by the 'Nação Solidária' campaign, Flamengo began this Thursday (21) and Friday (22) the distribution of personal protective masks, donated by the red-black star Giorgian De Arrascaeta, to people in vulnerable situations in needy communities in Rio de Janeiro.

During the first two days of distribution, residents of the communities of Complexo do Caju, Cidade de Deus, Vidigal, and Cruzada São Sebastião received protective masks made with references to the player and the "Mais Querido." It's worth noting that, in Complexo do Caju, the action was carried out with the support of "Cria Escola de Arte Pública," a project that supports vulnerable children and adolescents in the region. In total, the club received approximately 3 units for distribution, which will continue next week.

"Some people still show some resistance to wearing protective masks. In community support initiatives, we've noticed that many people, especially men, are reluctant to wear them. They think they're uncomfortable or unnecessary. However, Flamengo's masks are well-received. Everyone makes a point of grabbing and putting them on immediately. It's like wearing a club jersey, a uniform. A passion everyone makes a point of displaying. Without a doubt, Flamengo is contributing to raising awareness about mask use and, consequently, preventing the disease in these more socially vulnerable contexts," explained Camila Nascimento, Social Responsibility Manager at Mais Querido.

Personal protective masks act as a physical barrier and are an effective ally in combating the spread of the novel coronavirus, protecting both users and those around them.
