The year 2024 began with a significant loss for Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. Masseur Adenir Silva, known as Deni, passed away on Monday morning (1), at the age of 75, after suffering from brain cancer. The employee had been away from his duties since September 2022, when he discovered the disease, receiving full support from the club during treatment.

Mr. Deni, as he was affectionately known by everyone, was present at the most important moments in Flamengo's history. No one saw more victories and titles than he did! He cared for stars from A to Z, from Adriano to Zico. He served the club for 42 years, always with love, care, affection, and dedication. From October 26, 1981, to now, forever in the hearts of each of the millions of Flamengo fans.

The masseur was the only member of the club to have won the Copa Libertadores three times (1981, 2019, and 2022). In total, he won 36 titles with the Sacred Mantle. In 2021, Deni was honored by lifting the Campeonato Carioca trophy alongside the athletes, commemorating 40 years of service to Mengão.

A regular fixture at the locker room entrance, Mr. Deni always welcomed the Flamengo delegation to every game. He was deeply loved by the players and all the club's staff. May we always remember Deni when we remember Flamengo, as the two have always been and will always be synonymous.

There will be a wake for family members only today (1), in Gávea, in the club's chapel, from 18 pm until tomorrow morning. 

The wake will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Salão Nobre (Great Hall) for employees, athletes, family, and fans. The wake will be open to the public for a final farewell until 13 p.m. Wreaths can be sent to Av. Borges de Medeiros, 997 - Lagoa.

Afterwards, the burial will be at 16 pm, at Jardim da Saudade, in Mesquita, where the family has a tomb, at Av. Baronesa de Mesquita, 520 - Vila Emil.
