Last Friday (29), Flamengo, in an initiative of the Social Responsibility department, was in Morro Cantagalo, in the South Zone of Rio, for the launch of the center of the social project "Jogaremos Juntos", which welcomes children and young people to practice sports such as soccer, basketball and judo. The other center is located in Vila Aliança, a community located in the West Zone of the city. In total, around 200 children are being covered by the Mais Querido social project.
With its own methodology, "Jogaremos Juntos" is an educational project through sports, based on socio-emotional skills. Through the project, children and young people have the opportunity to develop self-awareness, resilience, empathy, focus, and more. These skills are learned through sports and then applied to face and overcome life's challenges, whether at school, with family, or with friends.
"It's been a fantastic experience applying the methodology in theory and practice with these children. We're getting very positive feedback from the families involved in the project. No amount of money can match the feedback we're receiving from these families about the improved behavior of our children, both at home, at school, and on the streets. The participation of both boys and girls in the project is very rewarding, as they learn from each other. The boys are helping the girls gain the place they deserve in society," highlighted the project's teacher, Franklin Ferreira, who is also the founder of the NGO 'Craques da Vida'.
