Flamengo has a new esports team! Last Friday (14), the team, with four players, was officially presented online, in a live and exclusive broadcast on FlaTV+, the club's official streaming service.

The team will compete in the 2nd edition of e-Gol, a Konami championship, which has been a partner of Rubro-Negro since 2016. All Flamengo games will be broadcast live on FlaTV+.

"Flamengo is increasingly investing in this world of technology and esports, and Konami is a very important partner for us. Since champions are part of Flamengo's DNA, we are also working at eFootball to bring great achievements to the club," said Gustavo Oliveira, Flamengo's Vice President of Communications and Marketing.

In addition to Mais Querido, Corinthians, Internacional and Santos are also confirmed in the dispute. The draw for the qualifying phase matches will be next Sunday (23). In this stage, everyone faces everyone else, online, each one at home, to define the semifinal matches: 1st place x 4th place; 2nd place x 3rd place. The first phase will have games on Mondays and Tuesdays: October 24, 25 and 31 and November 1. The semifinals and finals will be played in knockout, with best-of-five series, on November 18 and 19, in person, in São Paulo, at a location to be defined.

"I'm really excited, and the boys (the other players on the team) are too. I think it's great that Flamengo is entering another sport with such strength. We've assembled a team to fight for the title. I'm sure we'll represent the club very well, and this is just the beginning of a long project. May we bring much joy to the fans and be another winning sport at Flamengo. Personally, as a fan, I want to make my mark on the club's history," said Mito Abdalla, who plays for the red-and-black team alongside Bruninho Futefacil, Sandrinho, and Henryquinho.
