Flamengo promotes another dynamic of the Anti-Racist Dialogues project
An initiative by the Social Responsibility department invites employees, athletes and associates to reflect on the topic
By Communication - Flamengo - inDuring Black Awareness Month, Flamengo, through an initiative of the club's Social Responsibility department, promoted an anti-racist dialogue with members and employees. A dynamic event was held last Tuesday (29) that later unfolded into a discussion on the topic, seeking an active and daily stance to combat racism and reflect on its causes and effects. Diversity and inclusion consultants Ingrid David and Vitor Matos led the activity.
"I've been following the initiatives that the Communications, Social Responsibility, and Historical Heritage departments have been making regarding diversity and inclusion issues, and I'm very proud of this, especially because we see the awareness and efforts of employees in this regard. These discussions are important for each individual to have a daily anti-racist practice," said consultant Ingrid David.
"Flamengo's interest in social responsibility issues brings me double satisfaction, as an activist and a fan. The reception of the issue by its employees was excellent. With so many Black idols in its history, I hope Flamengo becomes a benchmark in the fight against racism, starting from the inside out," added consultant Vitor Matos.
This was the second workshop hosted by the club's Social Responsibility department on this topic. The first, in August, with communications specialist Katiúcha Watuze, served as the basis for the creation of special patches celebrating the month, featuring the seven pillars alerting fans to the importance of being anti-racist every day. Each patch features a word and an illustration referring to the following values: community, diversity, equity, empathy, empowerment, inclusion, and respect.
