Flamengo holds Christmas event at public shelter for the elderly

This was the Christmas action carried out by Flamengo's Social Responsibility, on the afternoon of last Thursday (01), with the elderly in a situation of social vulnerability at the Maria Vieira Bazani Social Reintegration Unit, located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

During the event, attended by their idol Adílio and mascots Binho and Urubão, the seniors danced and sang the Flamengo anthem in a moment of relaxation and relaxation, which consequently alleviated the feelings of loneliness and abandonment that often mark the lives of many of these elderly men and women. In addition to the fun, the seniors received gifts and a donation of towels from Mais Querido.
"It was a very successful afternoon to welcome Flamengo's Social Responsibility and our beloved Adílio. It was a very emotional moment for our seniors! We can say that Flamengo scored a great goal today, a great goal filled with love, hope, and affection for the socially vulnerable seniors here," said Regina Santos, Advisor to the Board of Directors of URS Maria Vieira Bazani.

The Maria Vieira Bazani Unit serves elderly individuals of both sexes who are unable to remain with their families, are homeless, or have been abandoned, and have severed or weakened family ties. Through its technical staff—social workers, psychologists, nutritionists, and social educators—the Maria Bazani URS works to restore these elderly individuals' identity.
