Flamengo launched its "Sangueira Rubro-Negro" campaign this Wednesday (March 19th) in partnership with Hemorio. The team from the public institution, which serves approximately 03 healthcare units in the state of Rio de Janeiro, was present at the Gávea headquarters and collected blood donations from members, employees, and volunteer athletes to help patients undergoing treatments and surgeries. The initiative also aims to raise awareness among Flamengo fans about the importance of maintaining a sufficient blood supply to save lives.

The campaign's organizer since 2019, Camila Nascimento, the club's Social Responsibility Manager, explained why initiatives like this are so important for the public health system: "You can't buy blood; the only way to obtain blood for transfusions and surgeries is through spontaneous donation. With each bag of blood, we can save up to four lives," she stated.
