Last Sunday (28), Flamengo held the second edition of the event “Inclusão Rubro-negra” (Rubro-negra Inclusion) at the rowing headquarters, focusing on the social inclusion of children and young people with disabilities. Around 100 children and their guardians were present and had fun in a morning full of outdoor activities, adapted games, music, presentations, educational activities and boat and pedal boat rides around the Lagoon. The entertainment was guaranteed with the presence of Binho and Urubão, Flamengo's mascots, who interacted and took photos with the children.  

Supporting awareness and the importance of public policies for social inclusion, aimed at people with disabilities, the event's objective was to promote a space for interactivity and outdoor leisure, combating the invisibility and social exclusion to which people with disabilities are often subjected.

The event featured a capoeira performance by the Terra Brasil Cultural Center Group, led by Leandro Correia, a group of young people with disabilities, and students from Meu Kantinho Centro de Cultura, a music school for low-income youth that promotes, through music, reflection on important societal issues such as citizenship, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and socio-environmental practices. At the end of the forró group Calça Arriada's performance, a lively square dance group made up of children and young people with disabilities performed under the direction of entertainer Tio Salsicha.

"My son is autistic and loved participating in the 'Arraiá da Inclusão Rubro-Negra'. He's beaming, so happy to be here. He keeps telling me when he'll be back! So much love and affection were poured into every detail we felt up close. Thank you for everything you gave us today. God bless everyone who helped make this wonderful day possible," said Ana Clea, Kauã Marcos' mother.

The "Rubro-Negra Inclusion" event is the result of a partnership between the CRF (Brazilian Football Federation), through its Rowing and Social Responsibility Departments, and the Sports for the Planet Institute, founded by Cláudia and Kátia Alencar, former award-winning athletes for Flamengo. The event also benefited from the support of attentive and tireless volunteers, as well as support from Yorgus, Oh Água, Coco Legal, Saúde Mob, Hortifruti, Zona Sul, Talho Capixaba, Forró Calça Arriada, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon Fishermen's Colony, the Urbam Group, Reduzaqui, Algsun, Turma do Salsicha, Pedalinhos Klein, and Bruno Rego – Adapted Playful Activities.
