Flamengo joins the Redinha project to produce bags that reuse fishing nets and uniforms
Project generates income for artisans and fishermen in the Jurujuba colony, located in Guanabara Bay

On this World Water Day, Flamengo announces that it has entered into a partnership with the Redinha project to produce bags that reuse fishing nets and the club's socks, generating income for fishermen from the Jurujuba colony, in Guanabara Bay, and artisans."Flamengo understands its role in society by using its enormous reach to support noble causes like this. In addition to helping supplement these professionals' income, the project, which is led by women, has already prevented the equivalent of five volleyball courts' worth of fishing nets from being discarded.
"The partnership with Flamengo helps us popularize the idea of a circular economy. Rethinking waste production is something we should all consider, and having the world's largest fan base partnering in this thinking and putting it into practice is very symbolic," said Maria Fernanda Bastos, founder of Redinha.
