On Wednesday night, June 25th, Flamengo received two awards at the NBB Caixa Socioambiental Awards, which recognize impactful initiatives promoted by clubs in the New Basketball Brazil category. Flamengo's Social Responsibility was highlighted in the Social and Environmental categories, with two projects that reaffirm the club's commitment to social transformation and sustainability. The awards ceremony took place at the Clube Pinheiros Theater.

In the Social category, the winner was 'Jogaremos Juntos,' a sports-based education project focused on socio-emotional skills. The project serves more than 1.000 children and adolescents, ages 6 to 17, from communities in Rio de Janeiro and Baixada Fluminense, promoting values such as empathy, teamwork, respect, and resilience through sports. Offering soccer, basketball, volleyball, judo, and artistic gymnastics classes, 'Jogaremos Juntos' is present in Complexo do Alemão, Cantagalo, Pavão-Pavãozinho, Vila Aliança, Morro do Banco, Urucânia, Duque, and Caxias and Queimados. Sponsored by Shell through the Federal Sports Incentive Law, the project also offers meals, cultural tours, and educational support, reaffirming Flamengo's commitment to social transformation through sports.

In the Environmental Action category of the NBB CAIXA Social Awards, the 'Recicla Nação' project won, transforming recyclable waste into resources to combat food insecurity. With this project, Flamengo encourages the collection of bottle caps and other waste to be reused as raw materials within the circular economy concept. All the funds raised through recycling are used to combat food insecurity through basic food baskets and food for people in extremely vulnerable situations.

Since its inception, the project has recycled more than 69 tons of waste and, in 2024 alone, distributed 540 basic food baskets, as well as water and food during extremely hot days in Rio. The initiative is carried out in partnership with the Soul Environmental Institute and also promotes environmental education campaigns involving fans, athletes, and club employees.

These awards reflect the consistent work of Flamengo's Social Responsibility, which operates based on four pillars: education, social inclusion, sustainability, and health and quality of life, with the fight against racism and inequality as its cross-cutting axis.
