In April of this year, with the aim of providing extra income for the population, Flamengo decided to release its brand free of charge to individuals and micro-enterprises, with an annual turnover of up to R$180 thousand, to be able to produce Mengão hygienic masks. Therefore, at that time, all masks produced by these people and companies would have the seal of approval as an official Club product.

An essential product in the fight against the coronavirus and in huge demand in the market, the masks were an absolute success: the product is seen in every part of the country, used by a wide range of audiences. Due to this social initiative and the success of the action, Flamengo is competing for the Marketing Action of the Year award, in the Social Responsibility category, at the SPORTZBIZ AWARDS.

"Flamengo is aware of the importance of its social role. With this mask drive, we were able to help thousands of people gain another income-generating option for their families. It's gratifying to know that the club-branded masks have helped so many people, and it's an honor to be nominated for the Marketing Action of the Year award," said Gustavo Oliveira, Flamengo's vice president of Communications and Marketing.

In addition to releasing brand application manuals on its official website, Flamengo also shared the masks it considered most creative on its social media profiles.
