Flamengo is about people, hospitality, and culture. Understanding the club in this way, the Rubro-Negro's Social Responsibility and Citizenship Department works tirelessly on projects and initiatives that position the Most Beloved as an agent of change and transformation. The "Nação no Maraca" project is one of the pillars of this work and demonstrates the progress of the department's efforts.

In this year's Brazilian Championship, the event will take place at all of Flamengo's matches at Maracanã Stadium. This Sunday (16), during the match against Coritiba, Flamengo's debut in this edition of the Brasileirão, the Nação no Maraca (Nation at Maraca) will bring 300 people to the Sacred Temple. Among several social institutions, one of the groups will be made up of indigenous people from a Guarani village in Maricá called Mata Verde Bonita. They will watch the game in the South section but, beforehand, will be taken by the club's Social Responsibility team to see the pitch. In addition to the indigenous people, another group will be made up of approximately 30 migrants and refugees from countries such as Congo, in Africa, and Venezuela, in South America, as well as victims of slave labor and human trafficking who are being assisted by the Rio de Janeiro State Government, in partnership with Flamengo's Social Responsibility department and the Secretariat of Social Development and Human Rights.

The Nação no Maraca program aims to provide space at Flamengo games to partner projects and institutions that work with socially vulnerable groups. In 2022, 1700 tickets were distributed, benefiting social reintegration organizations, public school students, social project beneficiaries, people with disabilities, and homeless people, among others. Fifty institutions were served last year.

"Here at Social Responsibility, we have "Nação no Maraca" as part of our Social Inclusion agenda, which aims to democratize space and create unforgettable moments for socially vulnerable groups—some of whom are often invisible. With every match we host this initiative, it's incredibly rewarding to see everyone so excited to be there, often for the first time, living an unforgettable dream," said Ricardo Campelo, vice president of the department.

The success is undeniable, and in 2023, the number has already been practically equaled in just three months: 1.697 tickets for 11 games were made available for the project by the end of March, in partnership with 34 different organizations. The next edition is already scheduled for April 16, for Flamengo's Brazilian Championship debut against Coritiba. 300 tickets have already been reserved for six partner institutions.

The club understands that a Flamengo game is more than just a sporting event: it's a cultural spectacle, full of intense social interaction. Nação no Maraca promotes the democratization of the space and provides moments of access to leisure.
