This Sunday (19), "Charity Day", Flamengo, in partnership with SOS Favela/Viva Rio, carried out another action of the 'Solidarity Nation' campaign. The Club distributed basic food baskets to people in vulnerable situations who live in Morro do Adeus, a community located in the North Zone of RJ.
In total, 50 basic food baskets were donated in the action, which included the participation of some red-black volunteers, engaged in collecting donations for the campaign.
"It's an incredible experience. Flamengo is doing wonderful work. It's wonderful to see so many families being helped, so many basic food baskets being distributed. Flamengo, as the gigantic club that it is, has the duty and role to be present in many ways.
Flamengo has been making excellent use of its resources to help these vulnerable people. I can only thank Mais Querido,” said Vitor Hugo Almeida, a Flamengo volunteer involved in the initiative.
To date, the 'Nação Solidária' campaign has supported more than three thousand families facing hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Camila Nascimento, Flamengo's Social Responsibility Manager, was present for this latest initiative.
