On Women's Day, Flamengo launches a profile dedicated to women's football on Instagram

Starting this Wednesday (8), International Women's Day, Flamengo's women's football team will have an exclusive Instagram account. This initiative is another step towards promoting its women's football, where the club has been investing heavily in recent years.

Working with women's soccer since 2019, the project has been constantly evolving. Today, the club has a professional team and a U-20 team.

"
When we took over and started working, we established a plan and are sticking to it. Everything has been going well thanks to the support of the departments, especially Marketing and Communications, who bought into the idea of transforming the modality into a major product. The work has been done step by step, without skipping any planning steps. We anticipated growth in several phases and are continuing on that path. The work isn't over, and there's much more to come.", said Vitor Zanelli, vice president of women's football, youth and futsal.

In 2020/2021, a strong marketing effort was launched, as part of a strategy to seek partners who understand the significant growth potential of women's soccer. With the support of major brands that trusted the project—Banco BRB, Mercado Livre, Guaraná Antarctica, Pixbet, ABC da Construção, TIM, Luvix, the State Government, and the Brazilian Navy—Mais Querido made significant signings between 2021 and 2022, strengthening its roster and positioning itself as a powerhouse in the market. Parallel to this, one of the key pillars of this growth has been the increase in the number of matches broadcast on FlaTV, giving women's soccer greater visibility.

In terms of digital media, Meninas da Gávea's content began being published on Time Flamengo, a profile that now promotes all of Flamengo's Olympic sports. Later, as part of the planning process, driven by revenue growth, it became part of the main account on all platforms. Now, in 2023, it will have its own assertive and strategic space, starting its promotion on Instagram.

"Our marketing and communications project for women's soccer follows the evolution and development of women's soccer in Brazil. We work alongside partners and sponsors who invest in the growth of the sport, and our goal is to continue highlighting it, always focusing on expanding the Flamengo brand. We believe this new step will increase the sport's engagement with the Red-Black Nation," said Gustavo Oliveira, Flamengo's Vice President of Communications and Marketing.

A group of athletes will be present at the derby against Fluminense, part of the Men's Carioca Championship, in the BRB VIP area. Next week, 11 girls benefiting from the Elas Jogam project, launched in 2022 in partnership with Mercado Livre, will attend a training session with the main team at the invitation of their partner.
