In Mother's Month, the 'Nação Solidária' campaign promoted another special action this Tuesday (4). Flamengo, in partnership with SOS Favela/Viva Rio, was in the Borel Community, in the North Zone of RJ, and distributed food voucher cards and alcohol gel to pregnant women and mothers living there.

In total, more than one hundred pregnant and postpartum women received R$70,00 food vouchers, which will be recharged in the coming months. They also received bottles of Mais Querido hand sanitizer, manufactured in partnership with LBBio.

Borel resident Tatiane Amaro highlighted the importance of help during this difficult time during the pandemic.

"This help is being very helpful, because I'm not working right now, only my husband is. We're scrambling to buy things for the house. Any help is always welcome, and this initiative from Flamengo is very important in these difficult times we're living in," she said.

For Camila Nascimento, Flamengo's Social Responsibility Manager, all support is very important for these most vulnerable people in society.

"The pandemic has exacerbated social inequality, but it has been even more tragic for women. Mothers, single mothers, and those who are heads of households are seeing their dependents' food needs jeopardized by their reduced income. So, taking advantage of Mother's Month, our "Solidarity Nation" campaign is targeting pregnant women and mothers in these more vulnerable contexts, to provide much-needed support at this time," she stated.

The 'Nação Solidária' campaign has been helping thousands of people in vulnerable situations due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Want to help too? Click here and make your contribution. Any help is greatly appreciated to help those who need it most.
