Tomorrow marks five years since the greatest tragedy in Flamengo's history. We lost ten young athletes, and we cannot—and do not want to—forget that. We must remember our young players forever, every ten minutes of every game, always.

It will be a very difficult day for the families of those ten young athletes, and this dismays all of us and our great fans. It is a day to mourn and pray for them. A day to stand in solidarity with their families and offer our condolences. 

The club received several inquiries from various media outlets. In summary, the club has the following to say:

Since the tragic day, the club has provided all assistance to the families, both psychological and financial.

After some time and regardless of legal proceedings, the club reached an agreement with nine of the ten families who suffered fatalities and all the survivors. These families considered the compensation amounts fair and accepted them.

The only family that did not accept the agreement receives a monthly pension from the club, regardless of legal proceedings, and Flamengo remains open to reaching an agreement with them, whom it values ​​greatly.

Flamengo has the greatest respect and affection for families, so we express here, once again, our most sincere condolences to everyone.
