Clube de Regatas do Flamengo deeply mourns the passing of Paulo César Ferreira, one of our country's greatest journalists with a history of success in television and radio. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1936, a loyal Flamengo fan and co-owner of Flamengo since 1967, Paulo César began his career at Rádio Continental and later became director of Rádio Nacional, where he worked as a reporter. He then worked at TV Rio, where he met Boni, who brought him to the newly launched TV Globo in 1967. Paulo César played a key role in the expansion and consolidation of what is now the country's largest broadcaster. 

One of Paulo César Ferreira's greatest achievements at Globo was his active participation in the acquisition of broadcasting rights for the 1970 World Cup. In 1984, Paulo served as general director of Sistema Globo de Rádio, leading coverage of the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. 

In addition to his work in television and radio, Paulo César Ferreira also worked in film as an executive producer and was a partner with Roberto Marinho in the creation of NET. In 1998, he published the book "Pilares Via Satélite – Da Rádio Nacional à Rede Globo."

The journalist's career is marked by significant contributions to the development of Brazilian media, reflecting a career dedicated to innovation and strengthening the country's media outlets.

Paulo César Ferreira leaves behind a wife, three children, and eight grandchildren. He isThe wake will be held at the Chapel of the São João Batista Cemetery this Thursday, 19/06, starting at 11 am.
