Official note - clarifications on the return of the red-black delegation to Brazil

By - in

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo became aware, through an official letter sent by the President of the TRE (Regional Electoral Court), Judge Elton Leme, that there is great concern about harm to the electoral process in Rio de Janeiro, in the event of victory in the Libertadores final.

The Club, represented by President Rodolfo Landim, with the support of coach Dorival Júnior and captain Diego Ribas, informed the TRE that it was available to collaborate, within its legal limitations, with the electoral process.

In light of this, a meeting was held, attended by senior Military Police and Federal Police officials, and a representative of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE), at which a course of action was defined. The Club assured that, IN THE EVENT OF VICTORY IN THE COMPETITION, there will be no PUBLIC celebrations, parades, or trophy or squad displays on election day.

An evacuation plan for the athletes from the airport has also been defined, without any contact with the public. In the event of a victory, fans will also be asked not to go to the airport, as no contact with the squad will be possible.

The club's security team was put in full contact with the Military Police to detail evacuation procedures.

We would like to remind you that Flamengo's board of directors, athletes, coaching staff, employees, and all staff present in Guayaquil have the right to come and go as guaranteed by the Constitution. They all share the desire to return home and exercise their democratic right to vote in the second round of the elections.

However, even with all this enormous work by the Club, we feel that there is still worrying pressure from the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) on the eve of one of the most important decisions in our history. This pressure impacts the players and their families and could negatively impact an occasion when team concentration is essential.

Finally, Flamengo's board of directors once again makes itself available to the authorities to work together and collaborate with the electoral process, always guaranteeing the constitutional rights and peace of mind of our delegation.
